The real reason Jay-Z & Dame Dash fell out…?

Rumors are flying around that the real reason Jay-Z and Dame Dash fell out is because of Aaliyah:

Trying to stir up interest in his upcoming Roc-A-Fella documentary, reveals what everybody already knows that one of the reason’s behind the Dame Dash / Jay Z clash was Aaliyah. Choke tells Hip Hop Weekly, “Both Jay and Dame was involved with a certain R&B singer, who I’m not gonna say her name out of respect ’cause she ain’t around to defend herself, but I believe that was a part of the initial friction. I was seeing Jay with her back around 2000, then Dame… …was with her after. All you have to do is look at the movie they did, Death of a Dynasty. In the movie they were fighting over a model. In real life she was a model, but singing is what she was known for first.”

You have to wonder if that will be addressed in the upcoming biopic. We all know how stunningly beautiful Aaliyah was, but promiscuous???

Drummer tries to holla at Michelle Obama and gets BUSTED…

Ladies and gentlemen, please don’t try and holla at the First Lady … or else. Hood-Hop has caught wind that a man who tried to publicly flirt with Michelle Obama got suspended from his job for 6 months. Here’s how the Cleveland Plain-Dealer is reporting it:

Drum Major John Coleman offered a quick nod, a fleeting wave and what looked like a wink — all while keeping stride — as he marched the Cleveland Firefighter’s Memorial Pipes & Drums past President Barack Obama last week.

Some might call it a heartwarming moment of patriotism during the inaugural parade.

The band’s leader calls it a violation of the rules, captured by CNN. Coleman has been suspended as drum major for six months.

“We had gone over and over time and again with everyone in the band that this was a military parade. Protocol and proper decorum had to be followed at all times,” said bandleader Pipe Major Mike Engle. “Unfortunately, John chose to ignore that.”
You mess with the President’s wife .. and that’s yo’ azz….

Just to make it 100% clear it was the band and not President Obama that suspended the man for his actions

It appears that a congratulations are in order. Hood-Hop has EXCLUSIVELY learned that NBA baller Kenyon Martin has popped the question to his rapper girlfriend Trina. And it gets even more interesting. According to a person close to Kenyon - Barack Obama motivated him to pop the question. The insider tells Hood-Hop, “[Kenyon] was inspired by Barack … watching [The President's] relationship with Michelle was probably what pushed [Kenyon] to pop the question.”

The wedding is right around the corner too. One of Hood-Hop’s snitches told us that Kenyon and Trina will be tying the knot in Mexico on Valentine’s Day

Congrats to the happy couple.

No No for Rhi Rhi…

Rihanna may be in some REAL TROUBLE. Hood-Hop just learned that a radical Islamist group is threatening to take action if Rihanna is allowed to perform her concert in Malaysia. The Pan-Malaysian Islamic party, a radical Muslim political party, claims that Rihanna’s outfits are “too sexy” and have called for the Barbados-born singer to be banned from performing in the Muslim country.

Hood-Hop has learned that according to the group, allowing Rihanna to perform in Malaysia on February 13th would be an “insult to Asian values”.

And the Pan-Malaysian Islamic party isn’t just any old party. The group’s aim is to have Islamic sharia law govern all of Malaysia. And they’ve supported the Taliban both before and after 9-11.

Rihanna Girl … those Taliban don’t play. We know it’s a recession and all – and it makes sense to get all the paper you can. But you may wanna just skip your Malaysia performance

The director for the new Aaliyah biopic are doing extensive research for the little lookalike, Keisha Chante:

Fans anticipating R&B singer/actress Aaliyah’s forthcoming biopic can rest assured that the film is going to be as seamless as Jennifer Lopez’s praised role in Selena. According to Bill Condon, the director for the as-yet-untitled pic and famed director of the hit film ‘Dreamgirls’ starring Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce Knowles and Jamie Foxx, Aaliyah’s biopic and its cast are studying hard to make sure the pic is up to par. “We are going to great extremities to make this movie perfect. We have (Keisha) Chante in extensive…training, studying, speaking with family members, watching personal footage and in choreography training with Aaliyah’s choreographer and dear friend Fatima Robinson. This movie will will be seamless the same way it was for Selena fans who enjoyed Jennifer Lopez.” In addition to Keisha Chante, who has been cast as Aaliyah, the “One In A Million” singer’s choreographer Fatima Robinson, Timbaland, Ginuwine, and Missy Elliot are to be featured in the film. “Rock The Boat” music video director Hype Williams has also been tapped for the film to recreate Aaliyah’s final video shoot.

Sources close to the much-anticipated film say they’ll be “going deep into Aaliyah’s life”.

Notorious was good, but this one has the possibilty of being great. Aaliyah left a lot of unanswered questions about herself and her career. Hopefully this film will provide some insight.

It’s officially a wrap. Hood-Hop spoke with a very well placed insider who tells us that Diddy has decided to officially disband his girl group Danity Kane. But there wasn’t much of a group left. As Hood-Hop told you before, Diddy fired Aubrey and D Woods, and that Shannon quit.

According to Hood-Hop’s snitch, Aundrea was “released” from her contract and Dawn will stay with Bad Boy as a solo act.

Can’t say that we didn’t see this one coming.

Blueprint 3…?

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Recently, Jay-Z has been seen on various media outlets and has been a part of the inauguration ceremonies for President Obama. With all of this coming up, it’s been easy to forget what was once the most highly anticipated album since Dr. Dre’s Detox in Jay’s Blueprint 3. Now, Jigga has released news on the album and more.

“For me, the process of making an album is difficult with so many things going on,” he told MTV. “And me, I wanna make it beyond and above. I’m gonna take my time with it. I don’t have any quotas, and that’s a good thing. It may be too freeing. It’s a good thing and a bad thing. You know, I think I need some restrictions. ‘Cause if I had restrictions, I would have done it in three weeks. I would have made what I believe to be a great piece of art.”

Months ago, Kanye West spoke on the album, which many believe will be entirely produced by Yeezy.

“He wanted to do a few more joints, so he kinda pushed it back. Now we’re gonna go in and just work on some more records. So I got some more stuff to kill it with! I think [Jay pushed the album back because] ‘Swagger’ just did so incredible. We wanted to go up [and make sure] everything was on that level.”

Jay also added that “Brooklyn (We Go Hard)” is currently on the new album.

“I actually recorded a lot of records already. You know, all those records that leaked [online] were on ‘The Blueprint 3′.”

In addition to being one of the most talked about albums, it will also be his last on Def Jam. While he did sign a very lucrative deal with Live Nation, no official word has been given in regards to his distribution.

Snowman fires back at O’Reilly…

Monday, January 26th, 2009

young-jeezy-marquee.jpg

Young Jeezy ain’t never scared. As previously reported, the snowman struck back at Bill O’Reilly after the TV host called he and Jay-Z’s inaugural performance of the “My President” remix, “offensive.”

Though he harshly criticized Jeezy and poked fun at his name, O’Reilly did open the door for the rapper to appear on “The O’Reilly Factor” to explain his position. The Snowman said he’d gladly face the Fox TV personality.

“Damn right! I ain’t never ran, nah mean?” Jeezy told Hood-Hop. “At the end of the day, you’re dealing with cats who think that we as young black men don’t know what it is we do. We entrepreneurs, we came from nothing. If you gotta mispronounce my name to try to be funny and you got a Harvard or whatever education you got, then you’re really showing how ignorant you are.”

“If you didn’t hear what the fuck I said, it’s all good, but you didn’t hear all these people crying in New Orleans,” he continued. “You ain’t know bout the [Oscar] Grant kid that got killed in Oakland, you ain’t speaking on that. You ain’t talking about these ladies out here killing these babies, you worried about what I said.”
