More Murder Cases for C-Murder…

C-Murder may finish his sentence within months under a plea deal in which he pleaded no contest on Wednesday (May 27) to two counts of attempted second-degree murder, according to The Times-Picayune.

The trial pertained to an August 2001 incident in which Corey “C-Murder” Miller shot at a Baton Rouge nightclub owner and a bouncer after they denied him entry for his refusal to be searched. Though the rapper’s deal in the case calls for a sentence of 10 years in prison, he will be given credit for his time served in jail and under house arrest for a separate murder case in Jefferson Parish.

The New Orleans rapper will stand trial for a second time on second-degree murder charges in the shooting death of 16 year-old Steve Thomas on Aug. 3, after the first one was ruled a mistrial. Miller faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted but if he reaches a plea deal, his sentence may run concurrently with his punishment in his Baton Rouge case.

GM and Chyrysler doin’ dumb, dirt bad…

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Bloomberg is reporting that General Motors will join Chrysler in filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday. The move is widely expected, but the news agency is adding a bit of flesh to the story, suggesting that what promises to be the third-largest bankruptcy in U.S. history (after Lehman Bros. and Worldcom) will indeed result in the sale of most of the automaker’s assets to a new company (likely the oft-discussed “Good GM”). GM’s worldwide assets have been reported to be $91 billion against a total liability of $176.4 billion as of December 31.

Taking a page outta R&B singer Chrisette Michele’s playbook, current XXL Cover Boy Soulja Boy is putting his sophomore CD for sale on Amazon.com for $2.99 in MP3 format.

The CD, originally released last December 16, will only be available at the reduced price for a limited time.

Selling shockingly less that than his 2007 debut, SB still managed to chart several hits including “Kiss Me Through The Phone” and “Turn My Swag On” respectively sitting at no. 23 and no. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.  As of press time iSouljaBoyTellem has sold around 251,500 units.

The Atl based rapper is currently working on his third album The DeAndre Way.

Sasha Fierce hates heels…

Hood-Hop just caught wind that Beyonce is telling reporters that she hates wearing heels. Here’s an excerpt from an interview in SELF magazine:

When I come home and take them (shoes) off, I’m like, ‘Oh my God! I wish I could just chop my feet off!’ But while I’m dancing, I’m thinking of the choreography…

I don’t think about my feet until I’m trying to go to sleep and they’re throbbing.

Kerri Hilson get busy…

Keri Hilson is a certified freak, and isn’t afraid to let everybody know either.

Here’s some photos we found from a recent performance at the WaMu Theater in New York City, where she and her dancer simulate sex right on stage. As you can see, her dancer gets to touch it from the back, spank her, and even get the spread eagle view.

All we can say is wow. It definitely doesn’t look like a show for kids. Her performance is a part of her set on Keyshia Cole’s A Different Me Tour featuring Keri, and Bobby Valentino.

You can see how the performance went down in the clip below, at around 2:05 minute in:

Jay-Z goes anti-Auto-Tune for Blueprint 3

“Where amazing happens” doesn’t just take place on the NBA courts — it also happens in Kanye West’s studio. The Grammy winner says Jay-Z’s long-percolating Blueprint 3 will be well worth the long wait the MC’s fans have been enduring.

“Jay is in control of everything in his domain,” Kanye, the album’s producer, said last week during a promotional visit for his book, “Thank You and You’re Welcome.”

“He’s just been working on it, and it’s gonna be amazing when he drops it. I think it’s good he’s taking his time to give people the best product possible and not being rushed by this fast-food, media-outlet, Internet, everything-is-getting-leaked, people-stealing your-songs-before-you-can-mix-them-and-put-them-online world we’re living in right now.”

Kanye revealed that he and Jay went back in and made some alterations to B3 since they first started.

“We actually removed all the songs with Auto-Tune off of his album,” West said, “to make the point that this is an anti-Auto-Tune album, even though I released an album that has all Auto-Tune!

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Kanye laughed about Jay not wanting to incorporate the sound that is featured so heavily on Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak. “It’s music; it’s just sonics. I like Auto-Tune so I do it, but you want the other thing — like you’ll wear a suit to a wedding and gym shoes to a basketball game. I think it’s a perfect moment for Jay to provide some gym shoes to a basketball game right now.”

No release date has been set for Blueprint 3, however, last week, Jay-Z secured his release from Def Jam Records, which will allow the album to come out on his own Roc Nation label, presumably in partnership with Rock Nation (although the specifics of that deal have not been confirmed). Meanwhile, Kanye has been in the studio, grabbing inspiration for his own next album.
